AKOOL: The Future of AI-Driven Visual Marketing
AKOOL isn’t just another AI tool—it’s reshaping the visual marketing landscape. In this interview, Jeff explains how AKOOL emerged as a generative AI platform, enabling users to produce high-quality, interactive videos and avatars that drive industry engagement.
With an emphasis on scalability and ease of use, AKOOL allows businesses of all sizes to create personalized content that resonates with their target audiences. Jeff shares how their AI-driven tools transform marketing campaigns by making content creation seamless, interactive, and efficient.
Let’s explore how AKOOL is redefining visual marketing, helping businesses deliver impactful content, and pushing what AI can do in the digital world.
What inspired you to create AKOOL? How did your experiences at tech giants like Google and Apple influence the development of this generative AI-powered platform?
Jeff: I created AKOOL because I love what I do, and I’ve been in this field for over a decade. I have the expertise to create some of the best AI video generation tools. Initially, we focused on helping businesses, especially in marketing, film production, and tech, to create high-quality AI videos, including avatars, video translation, and face swaps.
My experience at Google and Apple played a role, but we are doing something different, especially compared to Google, which isn’t in video content creation. Our overlap is more with Adobe, but we focus on cloud and SaaS solutions rather than desktop tools.
Did any pivotal moment or challenge during AKOOL’s early stages significantly shape the platform’s direction and strategy?
Jeff: Initially, we focused on private deployments of computer vision algorithms for large enterprises, but the market was slow, and deals took a long time to close. We realized it wasn’t an ideal field for a startup.
So, we shifted to AI video generation, which had a much shorter cycle and progressed faster. It was a tough decision, but it was necessary to adapt to the market.
With a background in leading AI/ML efforts at companies like XREAL and Apple, how does AKOOL differentiate itself in the competitive landscape of AI-driven visual marketing?
Jeff: We have the best talents in the video AI space, and I’ve been working in this field for over a decade. Our technology comes from a combination of experiences, including my work with Face ID at Apple and my internship at Adobe, which focused on human faces.
At Google, I worked on cloud video processing, analyzing humans in videos, which ties directly into what we do at AKOOL now. Unlike larger companies, we are lean and fast, which allows us to navigate quickly and make things happen.
What is AKOOL’s core mission?
Jeff: Our mission is to bring AI video generation to a film-quality level, enabling everyone to create high-quality videos. We also aim to make digital clones and human-like experiences available to everyone through video.
Can you explain the philosophy behind the name ‘AKOOL’ and its brand identity?
Jeff: ‘AKOOL‘ in Arabic means mind and thoughts, which also plays on “AI cool.” Our team works on interesting things with large, consistent market demand, and we aim to create functional and enjoyable products.
Have you done any market research before building AKOOL? Are there any key insights you can share?
Jeff: Ye. We conducted market research to understand what features were needed. We talked with many clients who provided ideas on what they required.
We prefer to focus on features with strong, consistent demand rather than entirely new things. We aim to improve on what’s already needed, moving from version one to version two.
How does AKOOL differentiate itself from AI-driven visual marketing platforms, such as Canva or Adobe’s AI tools?
Jeff: We focus on video AI and have the best talent in the field. We are faster and more flexible than Adobe, which focuses on desktop solutions. We are cloud-based, making us more adaptable to marketing, advertising, and other verticals.
What do you consider AKOOL’s biggest strengths, and where do you see opportunities for improvement or innovation?
Jeff: Our strength lies in our technology, especially AI-driven human video creation. We’re improving technology further and bringing in more product people to develop verticalized products and improve user experience.
We are also focusing on expansion, as the market is growing quickly!
What have been the biggest challenges in establishing AKOOL’s market position, and how have you addressed them?
Jeff: The biggest challenge was realizing that our initial focus on private deployments wasn’t sustainable for a startup. We addressed this by shifting our focus to AI video generation, which allowed us to grow faster.
Can you elaborate on the key features of AKOOL that make it a standout in the visual marketing space?
Jeff: Our core features are avatars, video translation, and face swaps. The face swap feature went viral, and we’ve launched several marketing campaigns with brands like Qatar Airlines, allowing users to put themselves into ads.
We also work with film production companies to incorporate these features into their workflows.

How does AKOOL cater to the diverse needs of its users, from small startups to large enterprises?
Jeff: We serve a wide range of users, with about 35-40% coming from marketing and advertising agencies. Around 25% of tech companies use our APIs to integrate features into their processes.
We also cater to film production studios and individual creators or influencers who use our platform for social media content.
What steps have been taken to ensure that AKOOL remains intuitive and user-friendly?
Jeff: We collect feedback from users through multiple channels, such as email and Discord. We’ve also hired people specifically to talk to users, gather feedback, and improve our platform accordingly.
User feedback plays a significant role in identifying bugs and improving the user experience!
With data security becoming increasingly important, how does AKOOL ensure the privacy and protection of client data during content creation?
Jeff: We offer enterprise clients the option to store data on their own servers. We comply with all data security standards for other users and don’t access user data.
Users also have complete control over deleting their data from our platform, and we have robust protections against data leaks and cyberattacks.
What measures are in place to prevent potential misuse of AI-generated content in marketing campaigns?
Jeff: We are implementing an AI content moderation system to ensure that grey industry usage is removed from our platform.
What resources does AKOOL offer to help users maximize the platform’s potential? Are there tutorials, webinars, or community forums available?
Jeff: We offer webinars, a YouTube channel with tutorials, and a growing number of influencers creating how-to guides for our platform. We also regularly update these resources to keep up with new features.
What trends will most significantly impact the visual marketing industry, and how is AKOOL preparing for them?
Jeff: AI-generated human videos are becoming more popular, and the technology is maturing. As the quality improves, we see it shift from entertainment to internal company use, marketing, and, eventually, film production.
Video marketing is the next big trend, and we’re preparing to meet this demand!
What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs and students pursuing careers in creative fields, particularly those interested in visual media and marketing?
Jeff: Find something you are genuinely interested in. The startup journey is challenging, and it isn’t easy to keep going if you aren’t passionate about what you do. You’ll enjoy the challenges and stay motivated if you love your work.
Where do you see AKOOL in the next decade, particularly in terms of its influence on visual marketing and AI-driven content creation practices?
Jeff: In five to ten years, we aim to be a comprehensive video AI product company leading in video-based marketing. We foresee video marketing becoming the dominant form of advertising, and AKOOL will play a significant role in shaping that future.
How do you see the future of visual marketing evolving with the increasing integration of AI, and what role do you envision AKOOL playing in this future?
Jeff: We expect AI video marketing to become the norm, especially in regions where video advertising is growing rapidly. AKOOL will continue to be at the forefront of this shift, offering advanced AI-driven video solutions.
Can AI replace human intelligence, especially in creative fields like visual marketing, or will it serve more as a tool to enhance human creativity?
Jeff: No. AI isn’t there yet, but it’s evolving. It can enhance human creativity, especially in film production and visual effects. However, it’s not just AI—a combination of AI and computer graphics is involved in achieving film-quality results.
23. What would you like to say to potential users considering AKOOL for their visual marketing needs?
Jeff: We are excited to share our platform with everyone. Whether you’re a large enterprise or a small business, AKOOL has something for you. We welcome feedback and look forward to hearing from our users to help us improve the platform.
