Anthropic, the AI company founded by former OpenAI executives, made a strategic leap into the mobile tech arena on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, by launching its Claude AI chatbot as an iOS application and unveiling a new subscription tier for businesses.

This bold move is set to intensify competition with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, broadening the accessibility of advanced AI tools to both general consumers and enterprise users.

Here’s what people have to say about this new launch.

Founded by ex-OpenAI research executives and supported by tech heavyweights such as Google and Amazon, Anthropic has become a notable player in Generative AI. With its recent initiatives, Anthropic aims to embed its sophisticated AI capabilities more deeply into business operations and everyday tech use.

The company wrote on its blog, “Claude enables companies to shape their workflows based on their teams’ unique needs and goals, rather than being limited by their existing tools. Built with security and data privacy in mind, Claude helps protect sensitive business information.”

The newly introduced Claude AI app for iOS, also slated for an Android release, marks the company’s first foray into mobile applications, enabling seamless integration of AI functionalities with mobile devices.

Users of the app can engage with Claude’s advanced Chatbot capabilities, upload photos for real-time analysis, and sync these interactions across different platforms, enhancing both flexibility and user engagement.

The launch also includes a business-centric subscription model named the “Team” plan, priced at $30 per user per month with a requirement for a minimum of five users.

This plan offers extended features tailored to enterprise needs, such as increased query capacities, advanced admin controls, and a broader context window for in-depth Data processing and analysis.

Claude 3 has the capacity to summarize approximately 150,000 words, equivalent to substantial novels like “Moby Dick” or “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” doubling the capability of its predecessor, which could summarize only 75,000 words.

It allows users to submit extensive Data sets and request summaries in various formats, including memos, letters, or stories. In comparison, ChatGPT is able to process around 3,000 words.
